In case of times that your tabs are opened as a grey screen with PuTTY Connection Manager you will need to make the following configuration changes:
- select Tools > Options
- select Plugins > Putty
- check “Enable additional timing for PuTTY capture (ms):” ย and set to 500
This will prevent the grey tab from appearing and properly open the PuTTY window in your Putty Connection Manager tab.
This is the notation for the option “Enable additional timing for PuTTY capture (ms) ” and explains what it does:
“Note : this option is designed for people experiencing problems with PuTTY instances hosting. Most common problem is PuTTY process is not attached correctly to PuTTYCM and stays in taskbar while an empty tab is created. If you do not experience any trouble when opening connections then leave this option disabled.”

Hi, my Putty CM was already set to 500 but often it still opens the Putty in a separate window. How can I fix this? ๐
